FRED PERRY
Fred Perry was founded in 1952 by English tennis player Frederick John Perry, who was born in Stockport and named the brand after his nickname.Frederick John Perry was one of the top players of his time, achieving three consecutive Wimbledon Championships from 1934 to 1936 and becoming the first ever Grand Slam winner, earning him the title of "the God of British Tennis."
With the laurel wreath mark, which is still inherited today, as its icon, the brand started manufacturing sweatbands and shirts as a tennis wear brand, attracting many tennis players. In the 1960s, led by Paul Weller, it also influenced musicians and street fashion, including mods, skinheads, and casuals, and many musicians still wear Fred Perry today.
