FRED PERRY
Tennis player Frederick John Perry, from Stockport, England, founded "Fred Perry" in 1952, named after his nickname.Frederick John Perry was one of the top players of his time, achieving a hat-trick of Wimbledon Championships from 1934 to 1936 and the first-ever Grand Slam, earning him the title "the god of British tennis."
With the laurel wreath icon that is still inherited today, the brand started producing sweatbands and shirts as a tennis wear brand, captivating many tennis players. In the 1960s, led by Paul Weller, it influenced mods, skinheads, and casuals, as well as musicians and street fashion. Even today, many musicians still favor Fred Perry.
