Mowalola is a brand established in 2018 by Mowalola Ogunlesi, a Nigerian-born, London-based designer, who named the brand after herself.
Her life mantra is, "I don't want to be everyone's darling. If you lose yourself, you just become a doll."
The inspiration for her sleek and sensual style comes from pop culture icons Prince and André3000, and her sharp designs, reminiscent of African vibrancy, are inspired by various countercultures of the 1970s.
Her smooth leather pants, jackets, and coats, which emphasize the body line almost daringly, evoke an irresistible desire like forbidden fruit, and have gained a fanatical following worldwide.
