PEARL Gyosan "Fluorescent Clear"

Sale price¥1,650

The Calypso model of "Gyosan," a one-piece molded sandal that has supported the feet of professionals for over half a century, brings together the best of Marunaka Kogyosho's proud domestic production technology.
Its "fully integrated molding (PVC resin)" structure was developed by refining only the practical aspects to ensure the "safety" and "survival" of professionals working in Japan's harsh waters.
Unlike typical flip-flops, the thongs are structurally designed to completely prevent them from slipping out while walking or during intense movement.
It uses a unique blend of high-quality domestic PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
This creates tough durability, a moderate sense of weight, and an exceptional fit that adheres firmly to the soles of your feet.
This footwear steadfastly embodies the "functional beauty as a tool," calculated backward from the safety and survival needs in harsh waters.

PEARL

The Gyosan sandal, created by Marunaka Kogyosho's PEARL, is the ultimate minimalism, born from a relentless pursuit of practicality to ensure the "safety" and "survival" of professionals navigating Japan's harsh aquatic environments. It embodies the timeless appeal of Marunaka Kogyosho's unwavering commitment to domestic production quality, maintained for over half a century through meticulous mold and molding management by Nara artisans. The "fully integrated molding (PVC)", which connects the upper and sole with a single molecular structure, boasts an unyielding toughness that prevents the thong from ever coming loose during intense activity, overwhelming grip on wet decks, and high self-cleaning properties that prevent water absorption. We didn't name it ourselves; rather, it was the fishermen of Ogasawara and other seafarers who, out of respect and familiarity for its overwhelming slip resistance and toughness, began calling it "Gyosan" (short for "gyogyo jujisha-yo sandaru," or "sandals for fishery workers")—a true testament to users defining its value. Unswayed by fleeting trends, Marunaka Kogyosho continues to uphold the tough cutting and robust practicality it perfected from the outset. From everyday wear to the most demanding environments, we will continue to faithfully deliver this unchanging footwear, a masterpiece of functional beauty.
