The "Honu Gyosan Sandals" are a slide-type sandal that pursues convenience through a different approach than thong-type sandals, bringing together the domestic production technology that Marunaka Kogyosho is proud of.
Its "completely integrated (PVC resin)" construction was built by refining only practicality for the "safety" and "survival" of professionals who brave Japan's harsh waters.
From the upper band to the sole, everything is connected in a single molecular structure, structurally eliminating the risk of damage due to seams between parts or adhesive peeling.
The instep features a three-dimensional cast graphic of "Honu" (sea turtle), which is considered a symbol of good luck in Hawaii.
Made with our uniquely blended high-quality domestic polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
With the convenience of a slide-type design that allows for quick on and off, these sandals seamlessly connect all boundaries of daily life.

PEARL

The "Gyosan" sandals made by Marunaka Kogyosho's PEARL brand are the ultimate in minimalism, born from a relentless focus on practicality to ensure the "safety" and "survival" of professionals working in Japan's harsh aquatic environments.
For over half a century, Marunaka Kogyosho has consistently maintained the quality of domestic production under strict mold and molding management by Nara craftsmen, resulting in a timeless appearance.
The "fully integrated molding (made of PVC)" where the upper and sole are connected by a single molecular structure boasts a robust design where the thong will never come off, even during intense movement, overwhelming grip on wet decks, and high self-cleaning properties that prevent water absorption.
We didn't name it ourselves; rather, fishermen and people living by the sea in Ogasawara began calling it "Gyosan" (short for "gyogyo-jujisha-yo-sandaru" or "sandals for fisheries workers") out of respect and fondness for its exceptional anti-slip properties and toughness, truly a product whose value was defined by its users.
Without being swayed by trends, Marunaka Kogyosho continues to maintain the tough cutting and sturdy, practical functionality it perfected from the very beginning.
From everyday wear to the most demanding environments, we will continue to faithfully deliver this unchanging footwear, which embodies the beauty of utility.
