Sale price¥1,980

The "Honu Gyosan Sandals" are a slide-type sandal that pursues convenience with a different approach than thong-type sandals, bringing together the techniques of domestic production that Marunaka Kogyosho is proud of.
The "fully integrated molded (PVC resin)" structure was built by refining only the practicality for the "safety" and "survival" of professionals who brave the harsh waters of Japan.
Since everything from the upper band to the sole is connected by a single molecular structure, the risk of damage due to seams between parts or adhesive peeling is completely eliminated structurally.
On the instep, a graphic of "Honu (sea turtle)," considered a symbol of good luck in Hawaii, is three-dimensionally cast.
We use uniquely blended high-quality domestic polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
With the convenience of a slide-type design that allows you to quickly put them on and take them off, these sandals seamlessly connect all boundaries of daily life.

PEARL

The "Gyosan" sandals produced by Marunaka Kogyosho's PEARL brand are the epitome of minimalism, honed to deliver only practicality, ensuring the "safety" and "survival" of professionals who brave Japan's harsh waters. The enduring presence of these sandals is a testament to Marunaka Kogyosho's unwavering commitment to domestic quality for over half a century, with meticulous mold and molding management underpinned by Nara's artisan craftsmanship. Their "fully integrated molding (PVC)" construction, where the upper and sole are connected as a single molecular structure, boasts a robust design that prevents thongs from ever coming off even during intense activity, provides overwhelming grip on wet decks, and offers high self-cleaning properties as it absorbs no water whatsoever. It wasn't us who named them; rather, fishermen and seafarers in Ogasawara, out of respect and familiarity for their exceptional slip resistance and toughness, began calling them "Gyosan" (short for "gyogyo-jujisha-yo sandaru" or "sandals for fishery workers") – a real heritage where users defined their value. Without being swayed by trends, Marunaka Kogyosho continues to maintain the tough cutting and solid, practical utility it perfected from the outset. From everyday wear to the most demanding environments, we will continue to faithfully deliver these unchanging sandals, which exemplify the beauty of utility.
